Shoes: Korea uses foot length in mm
Korean shoe sizes follow KS M 6681 or the international Mondopoint standard (ISO 9407): the number is the foot length in mm. 250 means a 250 mm foot, which Japan writes as 25 cm. US, UK and EU sizes come from old shoe-last units, so there is no official conversion. This page uses a common estimate based on foot length.
Clothing: 95, 100, 55 and 66
Korean (KS) clothing sizes are body measurements in cm. A men's top marked 95 fits a chest of about 95 cm. S, M and L are shop names and vary by brand.
Women's sizes like 55 and 66 come from a 1981 Korean standard: 55 meant a height of 155 cm and a chest of 85 cm, with 5 cm of height and 3 cm of chest between sizes. The standard dropped them in 1999, but shops still use them.
Rings: Korean sizes (호, ho)
The international standard ISO 8653, used in Europe, gives the ring size as the inside circumference in mm. Korean ring gauges start at an inside diameter of 13.0 mm for size 1 and grow about 0.33 mm per size, the same series as Japan. A size 10 ring is 16.0 mm across. This is not an official standard, so shop charts differ slightly.
